About the project
Sandbox is an interactive metaverse, a city simulator in a block-based Minecraft graphics style. The game was one of the industry’s first play-2-earn metaverses, launched back in 2011 by Pixowl. The founders are Arthur Madrid, Economics Ph.D. and French government consultant, and Sebastien Borget, who has a degree in computer engineering and years of blockchain system architecture experience.
In Sandbox, players inhabit a virtual simulation of a city where NFT tokens can be used to buy plots of land, characters, uniforms, weapons, and various extras (boosts, ability enhancements, avatars). And these NFTs can be developed further, as well as profited from, rented out, or just played with.
Token
The internal SAND token is used for all game operations. It can be used to buy a character, a plot of land in the city, and to enhance abilities. Players also earn their in-game money in SAND.
Sandbox is currently the most recognized and best ranked metaverse on the blockchain. The token places 38th on CoinMarketCap, with a capitalization of more than $4 billion. SAND is currently fluctuating around $4 — $5, but reached its ATH of around $8 less than a month ago. In other words, the volatility of the token is not bad, which is convenient for traders, especially considering its daily trading volume of nearly $1.5 billion.
